Coconut Oil Formula

What makes coconut oil good for my hair?

Coconut oil is considered by many to be nature's healthiest oil. It is chemically composed of natural lipids which make it not only nourishing and moisturizing, but also it acts as a natural barrier for hair to protect and strengthen so hair can grow long and healthy. Coconut is really rich in lauric acid, a long chain fatty acid, which gives it great cleansing and emollient properties. It also has a high content of antioxidants that help protect against damaging free radicals that can leave hair looking dull and lifeless.

Is the Coconut Oil Formula Moisture Gro Jar for all hair types?

This product is a daily hairdress formulated especially for people with very dry, curly or frizzy hair. It may be too heavy for straighter/finer hair. If you have straight or fine hair and are looking for a more lightweight non-rinse out conditioner formula, we recommend trying our Coconut Oil Formula Hair Milk.

What is the difference between the Coconut Oil Formula Replenishing Conditioner and the Coconut Oil Formula Deep Conditioning Protein Pack?

The Repairing Conditioner is better for daily use since it is a more lightweight formula. You will still get that repairing and detangling as it has great conditioning ingredients in the formula like Panthenol and Keratin. The Deep Conditioning Protein Pack is a much intensive once or twice a week treatment. It is a concentrated formula that repairs damaged hair and strengthens it from root to tip. This product also contains coconut milk that coats the hair for detangling and extra shine.

How many applications will I get with one Deep Conditioning Protein Pack?

Depending on the length of your hair, each sachet comes with a generous amount of product that can be used for 2-3 applications. Each sachet is considered under the allowable per ounce limit for an airplane approved carryon product, making it a perfectly convenient travel necessity.

Can I leave the Deep Conditioning Protein Pack on all night?

Yes. An alternative use for the Coconut Oil Formula Deep Conditioning Protein Pack is as an overnight treatment. On clean, damp hair, coat your hair completely with the product and secure with a clip. Cover head with a shower cap or protective covering. Make sure to lay down a towel or protective covering over your pillow. In the morning rinse as usual and style as desired.

Some of your products contain coconut milk. What is the difference between coconut milk and coconut oil?

Both the Coconut Oil Formula Hair Milk and Deep Conditioning Protein Pack are infused with pure coconut milk which coats and conditions the hair for extra shine and detangling. Fresh coconut meat is grated and pressed to produce the coconut milk. Pure coconut oil, which is in all the products in the line, is acquired by separating the oil from the other particles in the milk. Coconut Oil is excellent for imparting brilliance and shine while protecting the hair follicle to promote healthy growth. Coconut Milk coats the hair with its natural conditioning silicones to give hair a long, sleek, glossy finish.

Hair Food Formula

Can these products be used on all hair types?

No. These products are formulated especially for people with very dry, curly or frizzy hair and would be too heavy for straighter/finer hair.

I used too much of the product in my hair and can't get it to shampoo out. What should I do?

As with all of our hairdress formulas, we recommend using these products sparingly. To remove excess product we suggest the following: Use 2 parts shampoo (that has been formulated for oily hair/scalp) mixed with 1 part baking soda to form a paste. Dampen the hair with tepid (no hot) water and apply mixture as you would a shampoo, concentrating on problem areas. Rinse with tepid water. Repeat. Please note: Using hot water will only make the product spread faster, which you do not want to do. It is better to use this remedy once or twice a day over the course of 2-3 days, rather than trying it multiple times in a row.

Will using a daily hairdress help my hair grow?

Palmer's Hair Care line of products are targeted at delivering essential vitamins that help hair grow healthy and long. They are blended with Vitamins A, D & E along with other natural extracts like jojoba, balsam and protein to pack a punch against breakage and weak brittle hair. On average, normal adults lose around 100 hairs per day due to the natural hair growth cycle. Once an old hair "dies," a new one starts generating in a phase known as anagen. This is when the new hair growth is the most vulnerable. Naturally curly hair or certain types of hair that are prone to extreme frizziness or dryness will start to coil while growing and can weaken or break the new follicle. That is why it is important to infuse the scalp (while also making sure to give some attention to those dry ends) with conditioner pomades, such as the ones found in the Palmer's Hair Care range to seal and protect the hair - giving it a fighting change to grow strong!

Is the Gro Treatment Jar a leave-in product?

As a daily conditioner, the Hair Success Gro Treatment can be used on dry hair and can be left on until the next shampoo. For a more intense deep conditioning treatment, Hair Success Gro Treatment can be applied following shampoo to clean, damp hair. Using this deep conditioning method, hair should then be wrapped in a hot towel or shower cap for 20 minutes allowing the product to penetrate, and then rinsed out with water.

How is the Olive Oil Formula lotion different than the Cocoa Butter Formula lotion?

While all of our lotions are superior moisturizers, they have slight differences in feel and the benefits they offer. Cocoa Butter is a rich, creamy concentrated formula that is great for smoothing marks, scars and evening skin tone in addition to moisturizing. Olive Butter, while also an excellend moisturizer, is a luxuriously silky formula loaded with antioxdiants for healthy, younger-looking skin.

Raw Shea Formula

What is Shea Butter?

Shea Butter is a natural moisturizer which is derived from the fruit of the Shea (Karite) Tree.

Are the formulas in the tube, jar and bottle the same?

What does Shea Butter smell like?

Shea Butter, in its natural state, has an unpleasant odor. Palmer's Shea Butter Formula is specially formulated with an aromatically pleasing scent.

The jar formula appears to have a textured, grainy appearance. Is this the way it is supposed to be?

Yes. It is perfectly normal for the jar to have a slightly uneven texture due to the properties of the raw Shea Butter. These small particles melt upon contact with the skin.

Is Shea Butter ok to use on sensitive skin?

Yes it is. Shea Butter is a gentle, yet effective moisturizer that contains natural anti-inflammatory properties and is also naturally packed with Vitamins A, E & F. It is widely recommended for sensitive skin.

Skin Success

What is hyperpigmentation?

Hyperpigmentation occurs when the skin produces too much melanin in a concentrated area. It can appear as a small dark spot or a larger discolored area. Many factors can contribute to this unwanted darkening. Among the most common causes are: Scarring: previous acne or injury to the skin even when healed may leave a dark mark or spot on the skin. Sun exposure: can cause anything from freckles to large brownish patches. Aging: commonly causes brown spots also known as liver spots or age spots on the face, body and hands. Pregnancy: causes a condition known as Melasma. These tan-to-brown patches around the mouth or eyes are also referred to as the "mask of pregnancy".

How do fading products work?

Palmer's Skin Success Fading products contain the maximum OTC amount of a targeted non-prescription skin lightener, one of the safest and most effective ingredients for eliminating skin discoloration and evening skin tone. This ingredient works by reducing excess pigment in the skin, targeting the hyperpigmented area for a more even tone.

When will I see an improvement?

Palmer's Skin Success Fading products gradually fade unwanted spots. Results should be visible within 6-8 weeks of treatment. Please be aware that skin is being treated with hydroquinone and can be extra sensitive to the sun. Because of this, Palmer's recommends the daily use of a sunscreen with an SPF (sun protection factor) of 15 or higher to prevent future discoloration.

I noticed that Palmer's Skin Success offers different fading products. Which one is right for me?

Palmer's Skin Success Fade Creams are offered according to skin type- For All Skin Types, For Oily Skin and For Dry Skin. Those with normal skin should choose the For All Skin Types formula. Those with combination or oilier skin types would benefit from the For Oily Skin formula and those with drier skin should choose the For Dry Skin formula. Palmer's Skin Success Eventone Fade Milk is ideal for body use as the formula is lighter and best for all over body application. The Palmer's Skin Success Ultra Fade Serum is specially developed as a lightweight formula, ideal for those desiring a serum consistency.

I noticed there is an SPF in the Fade Creams, what level SPF is it?

Palmer's Skin Success Fade Creams contain an SPF 4. The targeted skin lightening ingredient within the product makes the skin more sun-sensitive so Palmer's includes an SPF 4 to help offset any sun-sensitivity. Additionally, Palmer's recommends that you use an SPF 15 or higher as part of your daily skin care regimen.

Are the Palmer's Skin Success Fade product safe to use during pregnancy?

Palmer's recommends that you first consult your doctor before beginning any new skin care regimen.
